Guitar and Composing
ALBERTO UBACH obtained his Guitar Performer Diploma from Mexico’s National Conservatory of Music.
In 1982 he participated in the Superior Course of Music Interpretation, with maestro Andrés Segovia at the Conservatory of Music of Geneva, Switzerland.
From 1987 to 1988, he studied Instrumental Conducting with Doctor Donald Barra, at San Diego State University (SDSU).
In 1998 he received a grant from Mexico’s National Endowment for the Arts (FONCA), to record an “Homage to Manuel M. Ponce”, in the fiftieth anniversary of the composer’s death.
In 2001 he toured his native country, performing in all 32 city capitals of Mexico's States.
In 2003 he wrote “Diary 2003”, a collection of 365 pieces for guitar, of which three CDs have been recorded by different artists: April, May and October.
He has been inducted into Tijuana’s Hall of Fame.
